Baked lamb shoulder on potato bed

  • 1.5 kg Potatoes with firm flesh (bintje)
  • 2 onions
  • 2 Cloves of garlic
  • 1 C. soup Thyme
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • Olive oil
  • Butter
  • Salt and pepper


Production

1. Peel the potatoes , wash them, wipe them and cut them into thin slices. Peel and slice onions and garlic .

2.Preheat the oven to 210 ° C (tea 7). Butter an oven dish. Arrange the potatoes in the bottom of the dish and spread the onions over them. Add salt.

3. Stitch the garlic cloves in the shoulder . Salt the meat. Sprinkle with a drizzle of olive oil .

4. Place the shoulder of lamb on the bed of potatoes , sprinkle with thyme and add the bay leaf .

5. Pour 1 glass of water into the dish. Bake for about 1 hour 15 . Halfway through cooking, stir the potatoes and scrape the bottom of the dish. Add a little water if necessary and cover with a sheet of aluminum foil. Let the meat rest, covered, out of the oven , 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Pepper and adjust the seasoning.
